Lily Ryan Davis

Now that today is almost over it's really hit me that my sweet baby is one. I've been dreading this day for weeks now. It just doesn't seem possible that a year could go by so fast, I swear it was just yesterday that I got to see her for the first time. Lily is such an amazing baby and she's truely been a blessing to have. She's the happiest baby and very rarely cries. Which after having Emilee Lily seemed like a breeze.

Casey and I woke up to go to the hospital for my scheduled c-section at 5 am. My surgery was scheduled for 7. Everything went well except for the waiting. I'm not a very patient person to begin with so when my start time kept being pushed back I got really anxious. Finally they wheeled me back to the operating room to get started. It took the dang anesthesiologist 35 minutes to give me my spinal. It was the most uncomfortable and painful thing I've ever been through, nothing like when I had Emilee. Once all that was in place they let Casey in and the doctor did his work. Lily Ryan Davis was born at 9:06 am and was 7 lbs. 6 oz and 19 1/2 inches long.
While I was pregnant with Lily I always worried that I wouldn't think she was as cute as Emilee and was scared that I would love her as much as I did Emilee. That was far from the case. It was love at first sight and she was just as beautiful as her sister. At first they really didn't look much alike but it didn't take long for that to change. I love the saying "Children fill a whole in your heart you never knew existed". That sums it all up.
Here are some pictures of Lily over the past year. I still can't believe my sweet Lily is one.

Neglected

Well I've been neglecting my blog for the past 6 weeks. I just never can find the time to sit down and write what's been going on. I'm finished with school until Jan. 20th so I'll have much more time on my hands. That is if I could stop reading the Twilight books. I'm officially hooked. I finish one and I run to the store to buy the next. It's really pathetic actually. I've even got Casey addicted now. So my house work has been pushed to the back burner along with wrapping presents. Two more to go and I'll be back to the land of the living.
Lots has happend since I last wrote, I'm not even sure where to start. We had a great Halloween. We had all of our neighbors over before hand then we all went trick-or-treating together. It was a little crazy but the kids had fun. I of course didn't take any pictures so I'll have to get some from my neighbors.
Thanksgiving we went up to DFW for the weekend. We had Thanksgiving day at my sister's in Carrollton, it was so nice. I can't remember the last time that we went out to their house. Lily was very clingy to me but other than that we had a good time. The next day we had Lily's 1st birthday party. Like the day before Lily was extremely clingy but I think she was a better birthday girl than Emilee was at that age.
I promise I'll post some pictures tomorrow afterall it is Lily's 1st birthday. :( I can't believe a year as gone by that fast. I almost cried last night and I can probably guarantee that tomorrow at 9:06 am I'll cry. It's just not right that my baby is already a year.

What a mess

One of Lily's favorite things to do is to get into the cabinet with all their movies and pull them all out. Most of the time she does it one by one inspecting each DVD. The first few times it was pretty funny but now it drives me crazy. I'm sure Granny can agree that all we do is clean up DVD's. She's still really cute while she's doing it though. What a toot.

Lots of pictures

Here are the pictures I've taken lately. Not too many of Em because she's anti-camera.

Lily and her favorite white bear on her 9 month birthday

Lily making her goofy face. (I love her little foot in the background)

Lily (with a big bump on her head) attacking Bella

When you ask Lily to make a silly face this is what she does. The more you laugh the more she keeps doing it. It's hillarious!

Lily was suppose to be sleeping and I went to check on her and this is what I found. It was so cute her feet we swinging away.

Granny got them matching pj's and I thought they looked so cute in them.

Lily just being cute.

Weekend adventures

This past week/weekend we were in DFW. I love going home so much but at the same time it's always nice to come back to our house. If we could just pick up our house and move it to DFW life would be great.
Casey had his annual dinner for the recruiting squadron. It was fun to get all dressed up but the dinner itself was kinda boring. While Casey was in meetings all day I went across the street to the Galleria to shop. It was so nice to be in an actual mall. I almost forgot was that was like. I got the girls their Christmas outfits at Children's place and had to force myself not to buy the whole entire store.
Friday night Casey took me to Texas De Brazil for doing so good in all my classes this semester. If I get dinners like that I'll be sure to make all A's every semester. Dinner was amazing, I haven't had a meal that good in a long time.
My mom watched the girls for us while we were in Dallas and I think she had a pretty good time with them. Lily was a little toot for her but Emilee was really good. This was the first time Lily was away from us and I think it kinda freaked her out. We picked her up Saturday morning and all day long she clung to me. I was the only one who could look at her, hold her or do anything for her. It was a very long day.
So all in all we had a really good weekend. I did however become the world's worst friend and forgot Katie's birthday. I reminded myself all week of her birthday and when it came down to it I forgot. So I know I already told you once but I owe you big time. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY KATIE!!!!!

The ears, the staph and the rash.....

Well the past few days have been incredibly exciting in our house! Ok not really but they have been a little bit more crazy than normal. Wednesday Lily started running a 102 fever that would only go down with motrin or tylenol but would spike back up as soon as it wore off. At first I just thought it was teething but 102 is way to high for just teething. So first thing Thursday I called to get her an appointment and three hours later I finally get my appointment set up. I love not having to pay for insurance but at the same time I don't want my baby to suffer. So she ended up having an ear infection. We caught it pretty early so hopefully she'd start feeling better fast. After a miserable night with Lily on Thursday I woke up to find Emilee's ankle completely swollen and oozing. I know, gross. So finally after 2 hours of waiting for people to call me back I finally got her in to see the doctor. And yes my poor baby got a staph infection on her foot. I meant to take a picture of it but with all the kaos I forgot. It was so swollen you couldn't even see her ankle bone anymore. It was kinda reddish blue and really hot. The doctor called us in some strong medicine along with some cream. Both of which she gets three times a day.
So I finally start thinking that things are going to calm down. Well I bought Lily some different food yesterday when I went grocery shopping, she really seemed to like it except for the fact that she broke out in a horrible rash. We immediately stopped giving it to her but by that time it was all over. It didn't seem to bother her until about an hour after she went to sleep, she woke up screaming uncontrollably. At one point I thought she was going to pull her ears off, so I had no idea if it was from the rash or her ear infection. I called Katie and she calmed me down she told me to give her some benedryl. It helped. I'm not sure that it helped the rash but it atleast put her to sleep.
So it's been such an exhausting weekend. I'm so glad that Granny stayed the whole weekend, I probably would have lost my mind with out her. Oh and did I mention that I have 7 tests this week?!?!?! Well gotta go my fussy baby is crying again. And I think that this weekend has sealed the deal that we're only having 2 kids. I couldn't handle a fussy baby again.

Promise to post some pics soon....

Promised post

I'm finally getting around to the blog I promised about all the things going on lately. Acutally I still don't have time to write this I'm just procrastinating my school project. (which I'm great at, procrastinating not projects) It's been a few weeks now but I took Lily in for her 9 month check up and she's perfect. She was 19 lbs. 8 oz. and 27 in. (i think, it's been too long now). She's in the 57% for her weight and 58% for her height and 64% for her head. The doctor said she looked like she was getting plenty of food and pretty much just let her have what ever she'll eat, which is pretty much everything.
That next week she finally started crawling. She had been taking a few little shuffles but hadn't really shown any interest in crawling. I was taking some pictures of her and she thought she needed the camera and there ya go, she's been crawling ever since. She's pretty good about not getting into stuff but when she does and you tell her no she just looks at you and smiles. For now it's hilarious we'll see how I feel about that in a few more months. I love that big gummy smile.
We finally have one tooth!! Actually we have one very crooked tooth and three more on their way. So there's lots of drool and running noses lately. I try and take pictures but she doesn't let me get that close without attacking the camera.
Emilee has been back at mother's day out for a month now and is doing great. We haven't had any days of crying and screaming when she get's dropped off. Maybe she has finally outgrown that age!! THANK GOODNESS. But we've traded for lots of attitude and a bazillion questions. "Mommy why is it time for bed?" "Because it's dark outside" "Why is it dark outside?" "Because the sun went to bed" "Why did the sun go to bed?" "Because it was tired". You see how that goes. She can ask 100 questions in a matter of minutes. At first it was really cute but now it's a little annoying. I try and just answer her and change the subject but she usually will start it up again about other things. Sometimes it's pretty funny how long she'll go on.
Well that's our life lately nothing else really going on. Any suggestions on school and how not to loose my mind please let me know, I'm on the verge.
